Lesson 3 Dating Coach Mr. M has taught: Mentors are Key One of the most important things we’ve added to our inner game seminar is the section on mentors. Mentors are key to almost every area of my life and since I have decided to actively seek them out my life has changed drastically. I’ve always had mentors in my life, but it was always just random luck that they were in my life or they were coaches or teachers. After looking at the network that Mr. M has developed in London using the skills we developed in social circle mastery I saw the power of networking. What we realized is that mentors can cut your learning curve by as much as 80%. Having a real life mentor allows you to absorb knowledge through osmosis as opposed to interpretation. While learning out of a book or from watching a video can be quite helpful, it’s no substitute for learning from a close mentor. In the last year I’ve tried to add a key mentor in all the key areas of my life. Sometimes one person can serve as a mentor in several areas, but it’s key that the person is an expert in that area. I think the most important thing about mentors is that they won’t accidentally give you poor advice. Many good intentioned friends can set you on a fools errand by accidentally giving you advice that they are not an expert at. Be careful about the mentors you pick. Anyone who knows how to build a website and has a video camera can start pumping out advice as if…
